OK
http://24.77.147.41:82/NegExchange/Slideshow/index.html is updated. Leaner and meaner. So it should load a lot faster.
Resized some of the works (copies) down to 8x10, don't worry if someone really wants to download the 98 meg file it's still there. But 8x10 at 250-360 dpi was the deal. Files are still as tiffs but with LZW compression applied which is loseless. If we don't get something shortly from Bob, we'll just start without him.

So what was decided on for the methodology here? Do we print all the prints except our own? How many copies? Who do we exchange with?
There are like 5 pages to this thread which I don't feel like skimming over if someone can just give a quick summary.

The short of it:
* Everyone submits two (OR MORE) images (TWO min.).
* Everyone will have one of their images "interpreted" by a randomly assigned photographer.
* Everyone gets to pick one or more "elective" images to print.
* Everyone prints their two sets -- five each -- mandatory and elective.
* Everyone get prints in the mail.
1. Keith Williams (USA)
2. Michael Koch-Schulte (Canada)
<STRIKE>3. Bob Carnie (Canada)</STRIKE>.
4. Carl Radford (UK)
5. Walter Ash (Canada?)
If I don't here from Bob by tomorrow then we shall assume he's MIA and passing. Sh*t happens.
Mandatory Print #1:
- Keith prints one of Michael's images.
- Michael prints one of Carl's images.
- Carl prints one of Walter's images.
- Walter prints one of Keith's images.
Print an edition of five prints. One for everyone including yourself.
Elective Print #2
Select any image from the pool and print and edition of five. You may print more than one elective, but the minimum is one. I suspect most people will print one elective but there might be the odd one of us "on a roll" who prints more.
I'll collate them: once you've printed your two editions put them in an envelope and mail them to me:
Michael Koch-Schulte
18 Sweetwood Bay
Winnipeg, MB. Canada.
R2V 2S2
Enclose enough money to cover my costs of mailing the collated editions back to you. I'm guessing around $10 as long as no one submits "oversized" work.
So what was decided on for the methodology here? Do we print all the prints except our own? How many copies? Who do we exchange with?

Files should be downloaded from the directories...here

not from the "slideshow".

I wish to apologize for my lack of submission.
We have had an intensive period here at work and I have let some things drop, obviously my involvement here is one of them.
I do not see things letting up until later this month as I have Ted Harris arriving Wed for five days. After he leaves life gets a bit saner.
I am sorry I let the ball down.

Bob, it's cool with me if we wait 'til around the middle of the month, that is when I would start printing, to be honest.
I was thinking to upload a couple more "choices" but just have been very busy.

Keith I think Bob is apoligising and saying "no not this time". Which is fine. Next time. Let's keep moving forward on this this. As the weather warms up my schedule gets logarithmically busy. I spend way more time out doors.

Hi Keith and all..a new arrival here and by invite from Keith. I'm looking to attach a file of an image Keith thought would be of interest. I would also love to see it as a hybrid contact print (feel free to be creative), since it is an area I am interested in...
Keith, I uploaded it under your file as a 12MB TIFF on the ftp...
Looking forward to this..ENJOY :)

Cool Kal, and thanks for checking in at hybridphoto!
Everybody: Kal posted a wonderful pola 55 image in the apug gallery and I saw it and loved it and asked for a print. Kal has no 'traditional' printing facilities, and we were discussing inkjet etc. which is verboten on apug, so I suiggested uploading the image here. I'd like to take a crack at printing it via digineg. If anybody else wants to give it a try, please do. (Help me sell Kal on these techniques!) If you don't have time to consider Kal's neg, no worries, this is just a tangential thing that I brought upon us.
Anyway, again... welcome Kal, and thanks for sharing your wonderful image! My first thought, looking at it, is that it'd make a very nice Pt/Pd print, but my experience with that is very limited so perhaps others can chime in if they have time.

Fantastic Keith. I can't tell you how excited I am about this. I have been planning a little foray/experiment in to salt printing with a friend of mine (he lives in holland and I hope he will be coming over for a weekend of darkroom fun), and we debated digital negative techniques.
It won't take much to sell me on this, I just need to believe that given the room I have now, and the level of complexity of the different processes that I can actually do this.
Does Salt printing a digital negative qualify as Hybrid? I don't think I saw anything on the site, and I believe it is relativeley easy (though inconsistent/unreliable)...Archival shelf life though I have been told!

Does Salt printing a digital negative qualify as Hybrid?
Sure! Pretty much anything that combines "analogue" and digital in some way is hybrid.

Hi Folks
Sorry to say that I have taken my eye off the ball a little re this. Attention drawn to some wetplate issues - and hosting Quinn Jacobson and family as well as trying to help friends with some serious personal issues. I plan to download images and work on them next week. Apologies in advance - I appreciate that others put a lot of effort into this and wish to do the same.
All the best, Carl

I'd like to ditto Carl's comments. Except that my excuses are less of a photographic and/or personal nature... I am simply trying to survive the end of the semester
I do look forward to printing some of these images and will also do a version or two of the wonderful one from Shangeye.

Sorry, I've been away at the lake for the last few days. The machine serving may have been down. Let me know if it's still an issue. How are people doing with their printing? I'm about half done.
