Good Day All,

My wife has the old 2002 transulcent white 800mhz g3 iBook running OSX 10.4.11 with 640mb sdram. She uses it for school and needs to have it be made wireless. I will be setting up a wireless network at home and her Uni has their own.

What are my wireless options for the iBook? Am i stuck with the older airport card or can I get a faster (and cheaper) usb solution? Brand names, software and links to where I can find the items are eagerly welcomed as I'm way behind schedule with my wife and that is not good!

Thanks bucketloads in advance...

I recommend getting the internal card. It is much faster than an external USB adapter since the USB in those machines are USB 1.1 I tried them once with very little luck and ended up springing for the internal option. It is a nearly as fast as my Quad G5 PowerMac when surfing.

My wife has the same iBook that she uses just for email and the internet. I bought the Airport card here http://www.macwireless.com/index.php and it works great. They also have a load of other options but like Greg, I agree that the internal route will be faster.

Keith.
