Wow. The 6th and final issue of Volume 1 is finally "in the can" and is available to download for free from our website www.magnachrom.com. Time for me to take a day off (or two) and then start the next volume (yes, it is now one year).

This issue's focus in hybrid photography -- anything that exhibits "out of the box" thinking in regards to producing photographic artwork.

I finally managed to get this downloaded this morning, and look forward to reading it in depth. But this is the only issue I'll ever download, as it took an hour to download on my dialup service.

But while we're mentioning people on this forum who contributed to the magazine, I notice Doyle Thomas has a nice-looking article as well. Congrats all,
Katharine

We hope to offering a CD-ROM version soon for those who have trouble with downloading such a big document.

is this just an internet magazine, or can it be purchased?

Just an old lady who likes to hold things in her hand when reading lol

Currently, MAGNAchrom is a download-only Journal dedicated to Medium and Large Format photography. It is published 6 times per year. We just completed our first year, so the next issue will be Volume 2, Issue 1.

In the near future we will be offering the following:

75dpi free downloadable printer-friendly version
75dpi free downloadable screen-friendly version
150dpi CD-ROM version via PayPal with both versions in higher resolution

Within the next 12 months we hope to offer a bound-book version of each Volume, which will include all six issues together.

Later on, when prices become affordable, we will start to offer print-on-demand versions of all issues. (these are likely to cost in excess of $12-$15 each however)

And finally, when we become profitable, we may print a limited-quantity of each issue to be distributed to select bookstores for sale.

However, I seriously doubt we will ever offer paid subscriptions for printed magazine delivered to your door. Time will tell...

Having worked with Michael a bit over the last couple of months, I haven't a doubt in the world that his goals for MAGNAchrom will be met. He's the consummate professional (and a really nice guy to boot).

If anyone has an opportunity to contribute to MAGNAchrom, I highly recommend the experience.
