Hybrid Issue Submission Guidelines

The intent of MAGNAchrom's 6th issue -- the hybrid issue -- is to get people to "think outside the box" when it comes to photography. And to date, the people who seem to be doing the most conceptual work are those who combine techniques and/or media. The more one "pushes the envelope" with his/her work or technique, the more interested we will be in featuring that work or technique in the hybrid issue.

We already have quite a few people interested in contributing -- some are painting on their prints, some (of course) are doing transfers, others are making digital negs, etc.

The idea is to showcase stuff that is outside of TRADITIONAL processes (and for us, traditional means analog --> analog, or digital --> digital) in the hopes that it sets off a lightbulb in the reader's mind. One artist is sending her prints through an inkjet multiple times for example and we can see lots of applications for that. We want to expand the verizons of what constitutes photography today.

Anyway, if you have something unique (no matter what it might be) we'd love to consider it!

To contribute, please go to the following link and fill out the form, being sure to mention the Hybrid Issue: http://www.magnachrom.com/ContributorRegistration.php

Note that contributions for the hybrid issue can take the form of:

Portfolio: Retrospective (i.e body of work)
Portfolio: Thematic (e.g. night photos, hand-painted photos, etc)
Article: Hybrid Photography Tips/Techniques
Article: Review or explanation of equipment an/or accessories to enable/fascilitate hybrid techniques (hybrid camera anyone?!)

Due date for submission is Jun 15th, 2007, but of course, the sooner you propose something, the sooner we can assign you a slot in the issue.

We are really excited about the potential of this issue and we will give preference to registered HybridPhoto.com contributors.
