Good Day,
Critique galleries and critiquing online is a difficult activity. This forum is going to be an attempt to provide a more structured approach so that the inherent deficiencies of the online critique will be minimized.
The forum has rules. These rules or rules in general may not meet your requirements, and for that I apologize in advance.
Rules for the Original Poster:
Start a new thread in this subforum (http://www.hybridphoto.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=35). You might wish to give the thread a name that may help augment the critique.
Post an image either by using the attachment functionality or by linking to an image that is already on line elsewhere.
Post multiple images for a series or portfolio or multiple versions of the same (an overall image and a couple details might be a good example and a way to get around the inability to see fine detail and surface texture)
Write up what aspect(s) of the image(s) you wished critiqued. You may wish to have your printing skills, composition, content, all of the above or something entirely different reviewed.
Give an account of what your intent is with regard to the image(s). You may be after a specific feeling or reaction from the viewer or you are possibly trying to emulate a style or genre.
Do not post if you are not willing to have your ideas and work criticized in a public forum.
All images must either be Hybrid or on the way to becoming a hybrid print* (Pure digital and or traditional is not the focus of this site or forum)
Rules for those wiling to critique
Only critique if you have confidence in the value of your opinion.
The object is to help the original poster to improve. Whenever possible for every criticism offer a solution.
Never attack or get personal the image is the focus and offering a path toward improvement is the goal
If your interest is for the image to stand on its own, or you are only looking for comments please use the gallery.
The forum will be periodically cleaned of old critiques.
Cheers,
jdc
*neg scans or digital capture will be allowed if the poster is unable to post an example of the finished print. This must be stated in the post.
