I downloaded the trial version of Vuescan/ windows 64 bit to test with my Epson V500 scanner. I have a Windows 7/64 bit machine. I have only used Epson scan software to this point.
First problem is the software does not seem to recognize my Scanner??? I can't find the way to select my scanner???
Help!

VueScan works fine for the v500 on my Mac. Make sure you update the Epson driver first, then try using VueScan.

1. Have you installed the OEM driver that comes with Vuescan?
2. Do you turn on the scanner BEFORE loading/running Vuescan?
The supported scanners list does have Epson V500. See it here (http://www.hamrick.com/vuescan/vuescan.htm#epson).
I run both my Epson 2450 and Minolta DualScan III under Windows 7 64bit using Vuescan.

Loris, When I downloaded the trial version would the OEM driver not be in the download?
If not hwere would I get the correct driver?

Go to Epson's web site and search for the v500 drivers. Download those for Win 7 64-bit and install, then VueScan should work.

Thanks, I downloaded the driver...again, and it seems to work now???? I am playing with it to see if I like it or not. the "user Guide" leaves a lot to be desired!

I use VueScan in conjunction with ColorPerfect for my color negs (don't shoot slides much any more).
