Hi all,

Maybe interesting to read for some of you. Some recent (2008!) research work on salt prints by Eleanor (Ellie) D. Young:

Mechanisms of controlling colour and aesthetic appearance of the photographic salt print (http://adt.lib.rmit.edu.au/adt/uploads/approved/adt-VIT20080901.142948/public/02whole.pdf)

Interesting reading. Do you know if the Salt Print manual that is referenced in the text was ever produced for distribution?

Don't know about that one, but here is a similar book available on-line. Go to the table of contents and you access each chapter.

The Albumen & Salted Paper Book - James M. Reilly 1980

back to the original topic - An interesting subject for a thesis. There is quite a bit of testing, research and formulas. I have only skimmed through it, but it looks pretty cool.

Thanks Marco

Thanks, that is a very interesting link too. Actually, I vaguely remember hitting on it before, but at the time not looking closer. Lot's of interesting info there too though...

James Reilly is also on the list of acknowledgements of the article I pointed out, and well known for some other good research.

Sorry, I don't know, I just hit on the article today and still need to properly read it myself. Google might be of help... or a mail to the author.
