Hi All,

I've been trying to get a decent QTR profile for argyrotype and have come quite close but I'm struggling to get density in the 90-95% range.

One issue I'm having is the understanding the effects of varying limit_k, limit_c, limit_m and limit_y and the relationship to boost_k. Just slight changes are causing very significant changes in my step tablet.

My current values that get me quite close are:

LIMIT_K=8
BOOST_K=12

LIMIT_C=8
LIMIT_M=8
LIMIT_Y=8

LIMIT_LC=55
LIMIT_LM=55
LIMIT_LK=55
LIMIT_LLK=0

Just dropping k boost by 1 gives me too much density in the 90-100% range.

I'm using Pictorico premium OHP, matte ink and a 3800 printer and Ron Reeder's QTR manual V3.

Thanks

Rob

Rob-- Instead of varying the amount of Boost K, try lowering either the C, M, or Y ink limits by 1%. Since these inks contribute less to the overall density, lowering one of them will have a lesser effect.

Good luck, Ron Reeder

Ron,

do you happen to have a QTR profile for the salt print process (for the same printer as above)?

Thanks
Stephan

Stephan-- Sorry but no. I have never tried salt printing. Ron Reeder
