Can anyone recommend a third party ink available in the UK to use in the above printer please? There are several makes around a lot cheaper than the Epson inks but what are the risks and problems from using other inks?
I am new to digital printing and the costs of producing prints seems high compared to the wet darkroom and I need to reduce costs but I don't want to compromise the operation of my printer.
Cheers
Jeff

Jeff, My wife uses the Permajet CIS on her Epson 2400 with good results, and a useful saving in operating cost to me.

You'll want to contact them the R1800 uses a different inkset than the 2400, and all but (I think) one other epson printer.

Take a look at http://www.imagespecialists.com and find the dealers in Europe

This is the same company that sells the ink to MIS, Ink Republic, and Uink (among others) and it works well. They have ink sets for just about all of the Epson pigment printers.

I should have made that clear, we have Kchrome inks, but they do other types as required.

Hi Jeff, I know this is a somewhat late reply but I came across this thread looking for info on the R1800 as I am considering getting one, I have been looking at the Fotospeed CIS sets, I was gonna get the printer and CIS in one hit. I have put a link below, of course if you have sorted it bye now, which I suspect! just ignore me. Well, not completely, how do you find the printer for standard prints? I am keen to use Photo rag 308 on it but read somewhere that it will only go up to 220gm or so, true?

Cheers
