I have (halleluja!) just made a good digital negative, would like a recommendation on book to learn about alt processes. At the moment I am doing AZO prints from digital negs, but would like to get into pt/pt, etc.
Recommendations would be appreciated.

Many thanks to Ron Reeder, Sandy King and Roy Harrington for helping me thru the learning curve on the AZO digital negative.

You can start with The Book of Alternative Photographic Processes by Christopher James (http://www.amazon.com/Book-Alternative-Photographic-Processes/dp/1418073725/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1269440139&sr=1-1), also,
Alternative Processes Condensed by Christina Anderson (http://www.alternativephotography.com/wp/alt-proc/alternative-processes-condensed)

There are many books around, also internet is full of information - as you have already experienced...

Both excellent books!! Also there is Dick Arentz - Platinum & Palladium Printing, 2nd Edition. It is out of print now, but you should be able to find.
Congrats on dialing in your digi-negs

Robert, I was to mention the Arentz book but abandoned the idea when I saw USD 400+ prices they're asking for it! :) I think Dick should think about self publishing...

WOW.... I did not realize how much they want for them. I've only had my copy for a little over a year and it's now worth more than most of my cameras. But I have to say it is the best, most complete & comprehensive book I have on alt processes. It's nearly $500 on ebay.

'The New Platinum Print' by Richard Sullivan and Carl Weese - my favourite book on the subject: well written, clear, concise with lots of good pictures to illuminate the text, and nice bits of historical info. dropped in here and there.

Yes that's a nice book too (I also have it), I haven't mentioned it since I've checked it and it wasn't (isn't) available both from Amazon and Bostick-Sullivan.

Thanks for mentioning though...

Still easy enough to find copies secondhand - click here for a couple (http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/BookSearchPL?cm_ven=PFX&cm_cat=affiliates&cm_pla=links&cm_ite=k120442&afn_sr=gan&aid=9885520&tn=The%20new%20platinum%20print&an=&pfxid=a_200620285).
