This could be some interesting news from Kodak: Inside Analog Photo Scott DiSabato, manager for professional films at Kodak, said that Kodak will introduce a new film in the next few weeks.
Anyone heard anything more concrete about type? My vote goes to Ektar 400!

Maybe an Ektar 100 NC (neutral color)?

I listened to that as well. My guess was a large format Ektar 100 like in 4x5 (maybe 8x10). I got the impression from the interview that Kodak was quite happy with large format sales. I think adding a film like Ektar to that format is probably a natural progression from the original release of 135, then to 120. A format of 4x5 seems to make sense given that the Portra and TMAX lines are available in 4x5.
But a 400 speed Ektar would be kind of nice if they could capture good color and fine grain. I would definitely give that a go!

The 4x5 should be tasty! Talk about avoiding grain!

They are bringing out Ektar 100 in 5x4 format. It was reported in the British Journal of Photography this week (17 Feb 2010, p5), available online below.

My freezer is currently filled with Fuji Quickload 5x4 film, so I haven't any extra space for film!
