I found an Umax Arista 2200 at a thrift store a couple of weeks ago that didn't have any software with it. I can use it to scan pictures OK, but I need the software to scan transparencies with. I've tried contacting Umax to purchase the software from them, but have not received a reply to my order on their websitefrom my numerous attempts. Does anybody here have the software for this scanner available? I'd really like to scan my 120 negatives but I don't have the money for a new scanner.

Thanks,
Michael

What OS are you using? There are reports that the scanner may not work properly with Windows ME and later. I wouldn't purchase the software until you verify that it will work with your OS. There are some serious problems with this scanner.

Doesn't Vuescan support it?

According to the Vuescan website only the SCSI version, which makes sense since apparently the USB version had problems and UMAX won't support the scanner.

I'd just look for another scanner, the reports on this scanners performance are under whelming.

I've got the USB version. Microsoft has an advisory about it saying that with the software from Umax that it should work with XP. I'm just trying to get Umax to respond to me right now....

Well, I finally found out that they shipped out the software on the 15th, 10 days after I ordered it. I'm hoping it will get here tomorrow, and when it does I'll try it out and post some results. I'm really hopeful that this will work so I can start using my medium format cameras!

Thanks. I'm looking forward to working in medium format as well as 35mm and sprocket hole 35mm. I've already have some 120 negatives from some exposed film that was in a Brownie Six 20 I got off ebay.
