So far we have three individuals interested:
Don Bryant
Jeremy Moore
Helen Bach
Please post a reply if you are interested in this exchange.

Thanks for signing up Ray. After we have a list of participants we can discuss the guide lines of the exchange.
The only thing I've really thought about is the size of the print. 8.5x11 or larger would be my preference.
Any paper, any ink, etc.

Count me in, although I think that the output of those above is far superior to mine. However, I have to start sooner or later.

I am keen, however I am in the UK so that may be an issue when it comes to mailing the prints. I too am at the bottom of the food chain but as has already been said, got to get involved at some point eh?

Thanks darr, Craig, Garri, and Les.
Since we seem to be gaining some synergy with the sign up for this exchange I think we should establish some action dates.
Jan. 31st 2007, for the last day to sign up.
March 1st, 2007, for the target date to mail submissions.
Some ink jet exchanges I've participated in involved sending one print to each participant with everyone shipping there prints to one person in pre-paid mailers, who would then package the prints and redistribute the submissions.
Personally I would rather not go that route, trying to keep things simple seems reasonable to me.
Now my question is, would folks prefer to have a number of small groups to exchange prints much like current exchanges on APUG, or would folks like to send one print to everyone on the sign up list?
Just some food for thought. Personally I don't mind cranking out 10 or 15 prints to send out because that would mean that I would receive just as many back.
As for international participants, consider this exchange to be global as in world wide.
Cheers,
Don Bryant

I dont mind how many prints I need to produce, and the dates are all good as well. If anyone else signs up in Australia and wants to groups prints together to save on postage, I am happy to help co-ordinate this.

I'll join. But my print will come from Wal-Mart as I don't print at home anymore.

Art,
As long as the print is an *ink jet* print. I didn't know that Wal-Mart offered inkjet prints.

Hi Art,
In my local area there are over 18 Wal-Mart stores within 20 miles from my home. So I called all 18 today to inquire about there inkjet print services. None make inkjet prints.
So I just want to clarify that machine made prints from digital files are not acceptable in the ink jet print exchange.
Thanks,
DonWith that PM I have been voted off the island. Just curious Don, can I ask the executioner a question - why?

Regards, Art.Art,
I have no idea what you mean by "executioner" or "being voted off the island".
My point was that Wal-Mart does not sell ink jet prints and that this is an ink jet print exchange not an exchange for prints made on analog material from digital files. I simply looked up the Wal-Mart stores with in 20 miles of my home and contacted them to see if they did indeed make ink jet prints.
There are plenty of ink jet printing ateliers that can print your file as an ink jet print. If you want to take that route then your are more than welcome to submit ink jet prints made from those sources.
However for me personally, having a personal involvement in making my prints is one of the reasons for participating in any exchange. I see it as an issue of craft of print making skill.
Or to put it another way, having someone else make your exchange prints is analogous to paying someone like Sal Lopes make platinum prints to be used in an alternative process exchange. I'm not suggesting that you have done that but hopefully you get my point.
My 2 cents,
Don

I'm interested in an inkjet print exchange, but I would have no objection if it were to change into a general 'hybrid' print exchange.
Best,

Helen,
My view is if a hybrid exchange is agreeable with everyone, then that is okay by me just so long as everyone knows what to expect from the exchange.
