    scanning 120 film?

    hey all,
I am new to this forum,
I have a couple of questions about scanning 120 film. I have an epson 3490 photo scanner, I know I can scan 35mm with it but I am not sure about if I can scan 120mm film with it. Anyone else have this scanner and has scanned 120 film with the epson 3490 before?

    thanks,
    Scott Hunnicutt

Just checked the Epson site and your scanner specs do not list the capability to scan 120 film. I have the Epson 3170 and it came with a medium format adapter which I use for my 120 film. You may be able to use this adapter, but IMHO it's not the best. There is a better med format on on the market, I can't find my link but will upload it later.

A note that if your final intention is to print 8x10 or larger you are pushing the absoute outside limits of the flatbed scanners mentioned.

A dedicated film scanner such as the Nikon 9000 will give much much better results.
