Need suggestions on scanning/etc black and white for web viewing.

I'm mainly a film person, and shoot all black and white.

Here is my dilemma....I have about 40 rolls of film from a project, and need to get these images on my website. It is medium format black and white film....6x4.5.....

What will be the easiest way to get them in digital format?

I have an Espon 4490 but have never used it to scan. Will that be fine? How long does it take to scan a negative?

I don't need fine quality, just enough to show online.

    Thanks.

Owning the scanner you can answer most of your questions yourself. I'd recommend scanning the film in at least 2x the final resolution and I would avoid letting the scanner do any color, contrast, density or sharpening. Do that in PS, I would also scan them in at the highest bit depth and in RGB.
