    LS8000 - still worth buying ?

    Hi there,

My first post here on HP

Well I just came back to film and I need a scanner. I'm pending on some models and I can either :

    - buy a 35mm dedicated scanner + V700 for MF
    - get a do-it-all-scanner , in this case a CoolScan 8000 ED

The 9000 is better I know and solves a lot of problems but truth is, I dont have the funds for it ( Fuji Gx617 buy on the horizon... ) .

But I know a LS8000 withing my reach : is it worth it ?

I've read so many problems with banding, problems with holders, etc.

Should I consider it or just forget it and go for a LS4000 for my 35mm and buy a flatbed later or just forget the flatbed all together and drum scan my MF at the store ?

I never upgraded from my 8000 to a 9000, and it hasn't hurt me. Haven't had any banding issues.
When I grow up, I want to be a photographer. :)
