third party extension tubes and d80?

    hey all,
I have been looking at extension tubes to use on my nikon d80. I noticed on keh they have a set of 11,18,27mm extension tube set for cheap but it is a misc. brand. I know it will not have AF or metering, which I don't need either. But will the cheaper extension tubes damage the AF contacts on the body of my d80?

    thanks,
    Scott Hunnicutt

Mmmm...think you may have more success with a question like that on a different forum (luminous-landscape, dpreview, ephotozine, etc. etc.) - but I could be wrong!

I think that's probably correct. Luminous-Landscape is a good bet.

I do have a little experience with this, but nothing definitive.
I bought some generic extension tubes to use on my Canon 5D and, while they did the job, they just didn't attach smoothly. I felt almost like I would have to force them to fit the camera - so I used them once - got a pretty nice shot and bought some from Canon.
    Good Luck,
    Tom
