Calling all Pt/Pd printers in the Toronto area
If you are at all interested in Pt/Pd printing, and you live near Toronto, then you might be interested in taking advantage of the space being made avail by Bob Carnie. This idea was sparked by the workshop that we did in Dec with Mark Nelson and Sandy King. Bob is making a portion of his facility at Elevator digital avail to us. There is lots of room, a large sink, lots of trays and other equip. and a Nu-Arc plate burner. There will be lots of room for printing either in-camera negs or digi-negs. I forgot to mention that this space includes an Imacon scanner, a Macintosh work station, and an Epson 4800 printer for making large digi-negs using Mark Nelson's PDN system.
Bob is proposing that we organize so that we can pool our resources and so that we can set specific times that we will use the facilities. He is thinking of charging reasonable rent, the amount mentioned so far is around $300.oo for a weekend. And he asked me to organize this because we all know that he is not going to.
So, PM me or email me and let's see what we can get going.
Thanks,
Tim N. Roscoe

I am waiving the $300 fee until the group gets its feet firmly landed and all the bugs are worked out.

I assume you're using OHP for making PDN negs on the 4800? This is a bit off topic but do you know if there a source for OHP in Canada? I know everyone I've talked to up here ends up buying the stuff from the States.
Thanks,
Roger...

That would be correct. The plan is to use Pictorico OHP. I do not know if Bob has another source, but I have not found one. I recently bought some myself and wound up getting it srtaight from the source in California. I sure hope we can find an alternative because it is stupidly expensive. Come to think of it, the same is obviously true of the ink for the printer regardless of the source.

I don't live in Toronto, but I go there every month, so depending on the weekend, I'd be interested. Bob's facilities are first rate and I recommend anyone take advantage of this great offer.
