Another newcomer by way of APUG
Hi,
I've been making photos since the late '60's, and had a darkroom off and on as circumstances permitted. About 2 years ago, though, after not getting my hands wet for a long time, I gave it all to a local budding photographer, and settled in with an Epson 2200 + Quadtone RIP for printing.
Still shoot film, though, using a collection of cameras that resulted from severe Gear Acquisition Syndrome during this period. (Isn't there an Uncle Ansel quote from "The Camera" that photographers tend to sublimate the creative urge into the acquisition of equipment?? Speaking only of myself, of course.)
Anyway, I need to get out more, and I'm hoping that y'all will keep my feet to the fire. I had originally subscribed over at APUG, but I can see this is where I belong...

QTR is a pretty good product considering the price. My interest in digital printing started a few years ago when I thought that there was a possibility of loosing my darkroom due to a house move. That hasn't happened yet but I'm glad I did make the effort to delve into the digi world. I still shoot almost exclusively with film but I have a 'toy' digital camera that I use creatively.
Cheers,
Don Bryant
