Not everyone is happy about the New World Order of Digital Photography.

    Childish.

An insult to the victims of Hitler.

The Nikon D3X is just gear. I don't understand the emotional shock that it is expensive. If you have to ask, you can afford it. In three years the camera will be obsolete.
When I grow up, I want to be a photographer. :)

I think this is very funny and the fact that it belittles Hitler should not bother anyone.

I was one of those eagerly awaiting what nikon might produce, in the vain hope that I'd come across any digital capture device that looks better than scanned Portra film. I figured, full-frame 24 MP sensor just might come close.

And it may--but not for me, not at such a huge price premium over similar offerings from other makers.

I think Nikon may have hatched a turd with this one, especially in this economy. May be a great camera--probably is--but I don't see the value proposition. Wonder to whom this camera will appeal?

Not dumping on Nikon per se, as I've used their gear for 30 years.

Well my guess is that sports photographers and news journalists for major news and sports outlets are perhaps the most likely to jump.

From watching sports and news on TV lately it looks like most of the these shooters are packing Nikons instead of Canons these days.

The Sony A900 may attract wedding photographers at the price the camera is offered at, but Sony needs to beef up it's lens selection. I don't think relying on legacy Minolta glass is a feasible idea for a number of reasons.

Why would they? For the slower frame rate and (probably) worse high-ISO-noise performance compared to the D3 they're already happily shooting? Those guys don't need 24 MP, not when it'll cost them twice as much.

The biggest buyers may be corperations that will write off the expenditure (or lease payment) and stock their camera pool with it. larger businesses and instituitions with inhouse PR and or a need for a photo dept as well as news agencies, and photo studios with an investment in Nikon lenses will buy this thing.

I also do not believe for one New York second .... that ANY of the manufacturers of the camera systems mentioned - will be impressed !

I wonder if the concerned manufacturers corporate lawyers will have this video removed from public display rather shortly ?

What next ? A promotional video on how convenient digital systems are for : pedophiles or terrorist executions ?

Anything that is intended to be humorous and is based on the regime that is solely responsible for the murders of six million civilians is not funny - Satire and sick are sometimes divided by a very close thin line ?

 In my most humble opinion
Perception and film, I have an old school understanding of ... but digital things are new to me and I am still learning ;)
